Logan Square
Chicago’s Logan Square neighborhood, named after Civil War General John A. Logan, combines an old-world feel with a modern, hip, artistic vibe. The area lies west of Western Avenue between Bloomingdale and Diversey Avenues (west of Bucktown, north of Humboldt Park and south of Avondale). Located 5 miles Northwest of the Chicago Loop, Logan Square was originally settled by people from all over the world starting in the early 1900’s. This rich mix of cultures made for an eclectic architectural style that is still present in the area’s many historic buildings that residents of many of the Logan Square apartment rentals can enjoy.
The famous boulevards and residential streets of this neighborhood are lined with century old mansions, parks, flowers, trees and a variety of Logan Square apartments for rent. This area is a neighborhood rich in history. At the heart of it all stands the Illinois Centennial Monument’a 70-foot tall column with an eagle atop. Those who choose to live in a Logan Square rental as well as neighborhood patrons can immerse themselves in the history of the area by attending the annual Historic Mansion Walk.
The area also offers a booming commercial district which includes dozens of restaurants, street-side cafes, galleries, bakeries, micro breweries, rock music venues, bars and pubs. Logan Square residents don’t have to travel far to find access to cuisine from around the world. People who rent in Logan Square can taste a bit of everything at the popular summertime festival, Taste of Logan Square. Other points of interest include the historic Congress Theater (live music and entertainment), The Fireside Bowl (traditional bowling alley without all of the glitz and glamor of modern bowling alleys) and the Logan Theater (old school movie theater featuring second-run movies).
Most Logan Square apartment rentals have easy access to the Blue train line (Western Ave, California Ave. and Logan Square stops) and I 90 expressway. Also there ares CTA Bus lines running on Milwaukee, Armitage, Fullerton and Diversey.
